The Global Action Team (GAT)
The GAT is a vast network of dedicated Lions — at all levels — who are focused on helping districts achieve their MISSION 1.5 targets. This important team is positioned to help foster club membership growth, build strong, innovative leaders and increase Lions’ visibility in the community through impactful service.
GAT leaders play a larger part in ensuring districts are held accountable in reaching MISSION 1.5 targets. By leading by example and providing the guidance necessary to navigate challenges and celebrate success, only then can Lions be successful.
Key priorities
By combining the strategies of the Global Membership Approach, MISSION 1.5 and our district goals process, the GAT is leading the charge for MISSION 1.5. GAT leaders are providing strategic support to achieve MISSION 1.5 targets, including but not limited to:
Motivating, inspiring and providing mentorship to multiple districts/single districts while reinforcing the importance of taking action to achieve membership targets.
Maintaining effective communication across all levels of the GAT.
Collaborating across all levels of the GAT to conduct relevant MISSION 1.5 seminars, events and projects at the local leadership forum, council and cabinet meetings when possible, and other local meetings.
Sharing best practices, successes, opportunities and needs with executive officers, area leaders, multiple district/district GAT and Lions International staff.
